28 Days of NYC Summer

The succinct version in order to properly record my thoughts!

Day 4
June 22
Rounds with a different physician.
Work on a research proposal.
Sit in on an eval conference: this was very enlightening, as it was my first experience with multi-disciplinary care.
Sit in a PT session with a stroke pt.
Close out with a group meeting.
I believe this was my first day running along the East River. Cloudy, but great views.

Day 5
June 23
Different physician, entirely outpt for the day.
Plethora of MRIs to go through and study in the literature.
Pts with sporting injuries wanting to get back to their game.
TBI, adhesive capsulitis, talk about EMG.
Filled in on research for Grand Rounds in August—geriatric exercise.
Blockheads with the roomies for margaritas and bulldogs, Webster Hall to dance it out. Back in bed around 2:30AM.

Day 6
June 24
Up at 6:30AM, walk for coffee, do some reading.
Begin research, light outpt day again.
Fridayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.
Run some errands, stock up on NYU gear. Well, technically not stocking up, rather buying pasolubong. Head back to apt dorm and get ready.
“Pre-funk” (as in pre-function) on the 19th floor. Tipsy. Begin bar hop. Drunken roaming around Gramercy area, trying to find out where to go next. Lose people. Lose more people. Dance club. Hopped on someone’s bottle service and got a couple free drinks. Stage dancing. Lost phone. Hopped in cab. Found a phone. Hopped out cab. Met up with other girls.  Destination bar not in sight. Drunk. Bouncer leads us to a club. Unsure and paranoid that we’ll be captured and sold into some trade, then it turns out it is a legit club. Dance. Dance. Hop on someone else’s bottle service. Dance. Help girl to bathroom. Dance. Bathroom. Cab. Head home. Time: 3:30AM. Call it a night.

Day 7
June 25
Saturday, up at 7 and realized yes, phone is gone. Need to buy a new one, don’t wanna use the one I found. Time for upgrade anyway, so I’ll get mine for $300 and sell the brand new one I found for $500 maybe. We’ll see. Meander to AT&T in Union Square at 9AM to get a new phone. Salesman is helpful. In and out with a new iPhone 4 in 30mins. Find a chair near Union Square in a little outdoor seating area and chill for an hour, setting up my phone. Run a few more errands. Hit up a couple people for Saturday plans. Head back home to get ready for Brooklyn.

Meet up with a friend form elementary school, eat at a clean dirty restaurant, the Trailer Park lounge. Love it. Great food. Check my Yelp.

Subway it over to Brooklyn while catching up on everything. What’s in Brooklyn? The Fort Greene Festival. Walk around the park talking and spend an hour or two just catching up. Lovely! Nice day, packed park.  Everyone crowded in to see Mos Def for free. Opening acts were real good too. Didn’t get names of the other artists unfortunately.  Meet up with bf’s cousin and friends. Finish out show. Galavant Brooklyn for a bit and then head back to Manhattan. Decide Brooklyn is the place to live.

Plan to meet uptown for a club.  Shopping in SoHo. Zara :) Walk around and taxi.  See some of the area south of where I stay.  Get back to dorm, check her in. Look up club and find out it is waaaaayy too uptown. Decide to just head over to the Lower East Side.

Mexican dinner. Start with sangria. Bar-hop until 4AM. End with pizza at 4AM. Go home. Sleep at 5AM.

Day 8
Sunday, June 26
Slept in a little bit more to recuperate. I think I ran some errands. Met up with the girls for dinner: Indian food, yum. Pinkberry for dessert I believe. Full-modes. Wanted to check out the roof.  Not possible, locked with a phone on the door saying, “Call the suicide hotline.” We swear we weren’t trying to kill ourselves, just wanted to see the view. Call it a weekend.
